your message is only as good as your ability to share it.

the world spins at a relatively fast pace. people come and go. issues arise and eventually find solutions. so when you find yourself in the presence of someone worth a minute, it's a natural feeling to take a moment and discover a deeper appreciation for them by attempting to slow down the seconds in between.

ghost loft - "slowdowntime"

live, travel, adventure, bless, and don’t be sorry.

even if this trailer didn't already look amazing, i would totally watch anything that boasts aubrey plaza and jake johnson.

safety not guaranteed hits the cinema this june.

we rely on each other. we get through it together.

after a month and a half hiatus, creative mornings returned with an impressive showing at the mosaic art space in little tokyo. this time around it was strengthened by ample parking (which is usually an issue with LA CMs) and free handsome roasters coffee.

the guest lecture was courtesy of sonja rasula, mastermind behind unique LA. beaming with confidence and impeccable charm, she treated the audience to a timeline of her successes, old photos and proved that risking your 401k to achieve a dream can be the best decision you ever made. i've made it a point to attend unique LA's holiday shows with the bester and it's a tradition i don't see being lost anytime soon.

creative mornings, you're such a boss.

when i see you again, we can make it this time.

some interactions deserve one of three buttons: pause, rewind or fast forward. pressing pause would allow a chance to savor and absorb, while rewinding could eradicate or minimize hurtful consequences. but the fast forward button is perhaps the most compelling because it encourages a hopeful resolution.

and while you're waiting for paths to cross again, all you can do is hope for the best.

when contempt becomes desire, you will love me too.

despite admitting she's not a big fan of taking showers (not surprised really), i still love me some grimes.

i'm only human, i'm full of mistakes.

revisit what i said, watch the video below and then keep mixed emotions on repeat.

the party's over now don't forget me.

despite his penchant for an ugly sweater (or two), drizzy does wear the hell out of a suit.

the wisdom of a fool won't set you free.

it's songs like this that tip the scale from a good afternoon to an impecable day. now let's go inhabit a happy hour situation and get into some trouble while we wait for the sun to eventually set.

tangled by the angles of truth.

i love you jamie woon, even with that silly top-of-the-head pony tail.

stitched together with good intentions.

the latest single from japan's hotel mexico inhabits those moments that feel so close yet so far. as the instrumentation embodies a full figured atomsphere, the slightly distorted vocals soar right above them. leaving the right amount of space for the listener to make their own candid realizations between the music's subtle but beautiful disconnect.

hotel mexico - "a space in a loveless field"

i've got this feeling that you'll always be dreaming.

like most of the singles already teased from their forthcoming record, "back from the grave" finds its poignancy through a simplistic delivery and emotionally deconstructed lyrics.

the only people who interest me are the mad ones.

the pancake tour of america finally hits the big screen and i couldn't be more excited.

"i do all these dumb things, i think in all these distorted ways. now i'm burning up."

the devil in your details.

we can all relate to giving some people more effort than others. sometimes moving mountains isn't considered impressive when it's just one in a series of miracles you've performed for someone on a regular basis. other times, despite our fair share of everything, there's no guarantee or safety against disappointment or loss.

the new single from mysterious outfit, night works, is the culmination of dedicated maneuvers and undecided outcomes.

night works - "i tried so hard"

operation: keep in better touch.

it's official. i've changed my opinion on channing tatum. granted, i still don't agree with him in overly romantic or dramatic roles - he just doesn't have the range. but after last night's screening of 21 jumpstreet, i've come around to appreciating him in a comedic setting.

i had little to no expectation for the remake and was genuinely surprised by just how hilarious and enjoyable it turned out to be. with cameos from ron swanson, new girl's nick miller and an unrecognizable johnny depp, it was a nice balance of sarcasm, physical comedic, raunch and buddy cup banter. and as with superbad or bridesmaids, for me the best parts were the moments that managed to sweetly highlight the importance of friendship. it's honestly worth your time even if it takes a minute to pick up.

red band trailer below.

you the man jonah hill.

conscious of your nonsense.

colored like a box of melted crayons, the new video from newly relocated san franciscan, devonwho
pairs the track's funky overtones with fluid transitions of nondescript faces and locales.

dev's strangebrew EP will be ready for consumption later this month.

there was a time when i wasn't like this.

it's a beautiful friday afternoon and i won't let this strange mood get the best of me. so instead, i'm going to listen to this until everything feels golden and once again worth a damn or two.

i'm just an advertisement for a version of myself.

i'm impressed. those white oak whiskey barrels are over 100 years old!

but you're going around in circles and everyone knows you're trouble.

the new beach house burner exquisitely constructs an atmosphere of vulnerability by calling upon a re-evaluation of loved ones and the strength of those varying degrees of connection.

beach house - "myth"

if there's room on your tree honey, i won't shake off the leaves.

heightened by tropical island breezes and metallic drum echoes, the latest single from brooklyn's suckers is as sweet in it's lyrical content as the umbrella in your beachside pina colada. listen closely and then proceed to order another round for you and yours.

suckers - "turn on the sunshine"

over exhaustion to settle the score.

if emile hirsch and joaquin phoenix had a facebaby, you'd get the adorable mug of norwegian singer mikhael paskalev. watch him hat tip risky business in the rad black and white clip for his irresistible new track, "i spy".

it all feels the same.

is there a statue of limitations when it comes to confessing your love to someone? pseudo dates, thoughtful actions and gifts can only go so far and it's at that crossroads when words become a necessity. not all motives are clear and not all moments are shared feelings. it's unfortunate how many potential connections become awkwardly dismantled because someone couldn't find the courage to leave the friendzone in their rearview.

however, the new single from LA's dreamtapes is told from the alternate point of view - the unaware object of affection.

sentimentalizing the past out of proportion.

being over analytical or hyper critical can really mess with your stability. it's quite simple to step inside the insecurities of your brain, lay out a welcome mat and sublet a spot. before you've realized it, things in your mind have deteriorated before things in the real world could even got a chance to get started.

with the addition of two members, seattle's beat connection has captured the complexity of mixed emotions that often play out differently when taken out of the comforts of your own thoughts.

big mouth strikes again.

sometimes we need to be gently pushed to be the best possible version of ourselves. new york duo tanlines encourages us to not only step outside of our usual personality parameter, but to fully commit to doing whatever it takes to arrive at a place that reaffirms the ideals of transcendent happiness.

i won't say no, how could i?

hi-fives all around for those who ASK!
