i'm a fool for that sound in your sighs.

the success and enjoyment of most films depends on the palpable chemistry the characters have with and around each other. luckily, in the case of silver linings playbook, all of the major and minor characters interact in such poignant ways that it's almost impossible to take your eyes off of the screen.

bradley cooper and jennifer lawrence are magic. bring on the academy award nominations & hopefully solid box office receipts - this movie is an impeccable gem and a must see when it opens this thanksgiving.

if you stay positive, you have a shot at a silver lining.

i wanna lose myself between your legs.

the dilemma to stay and be content or to leave and perhaps find something better suited, is a struggle that is relevant throughout all of life's platforms. whether you let fate decide what's in store or pull the trigger yourself, your future needs to bloom in one way or another.

when life reaches out with a moment like this, it's a sin to not reach back.

six days a week, 12 hour days for three and a half months. WELL WORTH IT.

i'm holding on to someone else's escape.

when you awake up less than half coherent of the misadventures that took place just hours before, your day can go one of two ways. you can shake off the blanks and laugh with your fellow hooligans-in-crime, or you can immediately raise a fist to the heavens and curse the night that even if your life depended on it, you just can't remember.

their happy is too loud.

"all that i want, is to sort this out."

i'm a fool for that shake in your thighs.

monday night i ventured to old territory by hitting up school night to catch chad valley. the one man operation included two microphones, a pedal and a variety of knobs and levers. performing a handful of tracks off his excellent debut album, young hunger, he juggled both mics and super cute hair flips with the ease of someone on the cusp of rising and well-deserved success.

new video for "fall 4 u" featuring glasser below.

just don't call me tomorrow asking, 'what did i do?'

for those days (or weeks) when you're drowning in booze and you reach out to the one person you're not supposed to.

the night was young enough, go ahead.

i'm starting to think chad valley tunes are going to soundtrack autumn in los angeles.

we’ll see something in a late scene that may result from something we saw in an earlier draft.

when our words journey through the universe, we can only hope that they travel to their intended party, even if it takes more than a few, erratic laps to find its way.

welcome back boys. you've been missed.

feels like we only go backwards.

people always tell you to keep on, keeping on. advertisements tell you to go forth. history tells you that the only thing constant is change. despite irrefutable evidence that things only seem to go in one direction, there are moments that when intertwined with certain people, can feel transportive and in no way forward.

free to be you and me.

last week, my crazy cousins and i embarked on a third year of tradition. this year the irvine lake mud run had changed venues and was now at the santa fe dam. despite being a locale we all frequented in our youth, some of us haven't been back since we were single digit ages.

while our team name is too embarrassing to write (it was chosen by my cousin as an early b-day gift, but the rest of us were none too pleased), we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in what had to be the muddiest of all courses. and per usual, despite our varying speeds throughout the four mile trek, we all finished together. ohana bitches!

yes, I drank all those drinks on my own. my life’s become some blurry little quest.

we all know someone that's essentially bad for our soul. we're warned, we're cautious, we think we're in control. but whenever they're around, all sense is abandoned and despite our best efforts, we just cannot stay away. with fingers crossed, we hope for the best and dive in for the adventure at hand, hoping we don't lose anything valuable or worse - return never quite the same.

canadian outfit (and grimes tour mates/besties), tops, gives this negative influence a gender and a slicker than your average theme song.

around us and between us.

spend saturday thinking about your sweetheart thanks to chad valley and his uncanny ability to capture the feelings you wanna social network but are probably too embarrassed to execute.

i am not the one you should be making your enemy.

who would've thought i would be so obssessed with a track by a knowles that wasn't by blue ivy's mom?

solange killing it.

that's just the way it is, things will never be the same.

if i fell apart, could you bring me back?

two weeks ago i had the pleasure of attending the frankenweenie press junket at the grand californian hotel at disneyland. not only did disney hook it up with three individual interviews on top of 2 hours of roundtable press conferences, they also let me run around california adventure to check out the art of frankenweenie exhibit. but my favorite part of the whole day was the mashed potato bar. yes, there was a tater bar and it was as good as it sounds.

after talking to almost everybody involved with the film (including asking tim burton a few questions!) i have nothing but kind words and strong recommendations for this fantastic, labor of love. more than just an animated flick, frankenweenie comes to life thanks to impeccable details and the sweet story of a boy and his four legged best friend.

i had one-on-one interviews with lead voice actors charlie tahan, atticus shaffer and the always impressive martin short. click on their names to read what i wrote.

swim and sleep like a shark.

a movie i've heard a lot about over the past few months was the satirical, dark comedy butter. when i went to the odd life of timothy green junket, jennifer garner talked a little about it, as did ashley green during the apparition's press day. my friend also saw it at a film festival last year and gave it a rave review.

so when an opportunity to catch the movie last week opened up, i jumped at the chance. starring garner, green, olivia wilde, hugh jackman, rob coddroy, alicia silverstone and ty burrell, the film relates the high-stakes and ridiculous world of butter carving in a small iowa town. while hilarious on a few levels, olivia wilde owns as a foul mouthed, tatted-up, bmx riding stripper named brooke.

butter is out in limited release next week.
