some interactions deserve one of three buttons: pause, rewind or fast forward. pressing pause would allow a chance to savor and absorb, while rewinding could eradicate or minimize hurtful consequences. but the fast forward button is perhaps the most compelling because it encourages a hopeful resolution.
and while you're waiting for paths to cross again, all you can do is hope for the best.
